Auto soft credit

In general, we change Mrs. Smith's account to an Estate type.

I am not sophisticated enough to figure out how to automatically charge soft credits where applicable. If this is a major issue, it should be possible (looking at t_creditee and t_contribution) to create a report that would scan all accounts for which a contribution was entered within, say, the past day, and return only those where a past contribution was credited to another account and this one wasn't credited to the same account. You could schedule such a report to run nightly or weekly, and at least catch mistakes quickly.

Is there a way to link 2 records so that they automatically soft credit each other?

Say Mrs. Smith sends contributions from her personal account and also from her family foundation. we want to track what checks come from which account, but we don't always remember to soft credit the other record. How can we make this automatic?

Also, how are other organizations handling changes within a donor.

Say Mrs. Smith's has passed away and her Estate is going to contribute. do you change Mrs. Smith's exhisting record to and Estate record new gifts or create a new Estate record and link them by association? we want to be able to see all giving values in one record. I was hoping the automatic soft crediting above would help that situation.
