auctions

Is anyone out there booking auction items in TESS?  Where are you putting them?  How do you report?

Thanks!

  • Yes, we record all donated items for auctions and raffles as in-kind donations on the donor’s record. I use a separate campaign/fund for in-kind donations for each special event (e.g., campaign = Garden Tour In-Kind for all donation to the garden tour raffle). This makes it much easier when you want to use standard reports to pull in-kind gifts only (or when you want to exclude them). I used to enter in-kind gifts within the same campaign or elevated event as cash gifts, but I soon realized that it was much easier to manage/report if I created separate campaigns for in-kind.

    Thank you, Odele.

You’re recording the donation to the organization this way, right?  How do you record the money from the person who buys the item in the auction?

    I appreciate your help.
