Does anybody have any good suggestions for running a program book name listing. There is a report in Tessitura for doing this, but it has some limitations:
1. If you don't enter a program name for a donor on their donor profile, they do not pull into the list.
2. If a donor's donation level is not manually updated in the program name on their profile, any increase or decrease in giving is not accurately reflected in the program name listing report.
3. Unless you manually remove a donor's name and giving level from the program name on their profile, they will continue to appear on the program name listing report. Someone who hasn't given in several years could be potentially showing up on the report unless their profile is manually updated.
Needless to say, because of these limitations, we find that we are doing a lot of manual editing and clean up work on our program book listings. Has anybody found a way to address these issues? Just curious to see how others are running program book listings.
Hi Aaron,
I've worked in a few different places and have never seen a perfect solution - but one thing to keep in mind is that you can run the Program Name Listing Report through a list. So if you have a dynamic list of your current donors (pulling based on Membership Status, for instance), then at least non-active donors will fall off.
This way you don't have to delete Name Listings if a donor lapses, only to create them again. The dynamic list will take care of this part.
I would be interested to hear of other non-manual tricks to pulling programs!
