Merged memberships

This may have been asked and answered already, but I'm really in a quandary here- when I merge two records and one of them has an active/current membership in it, the resulting record has a membership that has "merged" in the current status, and according to Tess documentation is not considered current.

What can I do to make the status current/active on these accounts??? Do I have to deactivate the merged membership and create a new membership??

  • Hi Helen,

Is the Active/Current Membership on the record that was Kept or Merged?  I'm pretty sure that if the Membership is in the record that is KEPT the Status of the Membership will stay Active and you won't have this problem going forward.

With the guy that's already been done, I would just Deactivate the Merged record and manually create an Active one with the appropriate expiration dates and just include notes in both.  You could also speak to your Database Administrator about changing the status via the back end, but I've tried this in the past and it can cause problems to custom headers.

    Good luck!
