Report to display the "gift" date

Hi Wendell,

When I need to look at when pledge payments were received I run reports that are based on posting dates.  In your example we would post the batch with the pledge payment of $10,000 to July 31, 2012.  Then in running a report that has the posting date, you will know when the pledge payment arrived.  One canned report Transaction by Posting is one such report, and you can select what type of transactions to include (such as pledge payments).  Our techs in the consortium have also modified that report a bit to include ref_no, so that payments can be tied back to an original pledge.

We are currently implementing Tessitura with full Go-Live in 2013 and we began inputting Contributions into the Live system on July 10, 2012.

Our Development manager is attempting to generate month-end reports for our Finance manager.
We cannot determine how to generate reports that contain specific data.

Description of our problem:
A local corporation pledged $100,000 to our organization in July, 2011.
The corporation submitted a payment toward this pledge of $10,000, and this payment was dated July 31, 2012.
We received the payment later, and we inputted the $10,000 payment on Sept 7, 2012.

Our Finance manager needs to show the contribution occurred in July, 2012 rather than Sept. 2012.
In our attempts to generate reports for our Finance group, we can display the original pledge date (July 2011) and we can display the transaction inputted on Sept. 7, 2012.
However, we cannot generate a report that indicates the $10,000 was "received" on July 31,2012.

Is there a report (either through List Manager or Extractions) that will show:
            the date of the original transaction (July 2011)
            the date of the inputted transaction (Sept 7, 2012)
            the date the “gift” was made (July 31, 2012)

I created some SQL and I can “see” the original transaction date of July 2011, and the transaction inputted Sept. 7.
However, I cannot see the Sept 7 transaction referencing a date of July 31, 2012.

We are very new to Tessitura and we realize the answer may be obvious.
