Hello Tessiturians!
We are in the beginning phases of planning a Capital Campaign and I'm at the point now where I need to start thinking about set-up in Tessitura. I was hoping for some feedback from you on best practices.
Right now, we are going back and forth as to whether to set up one large multi-year campaign (which is cleaner, but presents a problem when trying to pull information based on fiscal year) or setting up separate campaigns based on fiscal year (which clogs up accounts with many pledges/gifts, but is easier to manage when pulling information).
I see clear pros and cons to both and I just wanted to get your thoughts.
Thank you so much!
Just a thought…What if you used a multi-year campaign, but had different sources tied to fiscal year?
We ourselves did the multi-campaign version for our most recent annual campaign.

At City Center we used one multi-year campaign with no problem.
Make sure you understand your Finance office's intentions. Our Capital gifts are completely separate from any kind of annual giving and have a blank Fiscal Year in Campaign setup. Our Finance office uses a separate bank entirely for our Capital Campaign which requires us to have separate payment methods entirely.
This means you are never pulling by Fiscal Year for Capital, but for us that's intentional.
