So we do one large mailing right before our season starts(mailed first week of September, first show is end of September) to all of our donors who should receive benefits. Then after that mailing, we send piece mail benefits with any new donors who have not received benefits for the season as the gifts come in along with their ack letter. Last season I tracked the original group with inside source codes, a different source code for each associated donor level. This way when we we're entering a gift, we were able to see if they had been mailed benefits already, or if they needed benefits, or if they had moved up to a new level, in turn needing additional benefits.
I have two questions...
1. is there a better way/place to track this in tessitura besides source codes that is visible at time of contribution entry?
2. has anyone found a really great way to efficiently distribute donor benefits that isn't like the way I listed above?
