Dear all
We would like to process a donation through the ticketing module at the same time as processing a ticket order so that there is just one credit card transaction. I know that it is possible to do this through the contributions tab of the ticket module - although I think some organisations might simply put the donation on account and then the development department pick that up and allocate it to the donation campaign.
Is anyone else doing this? Any advice on options and set up would be welcomed.
Many thanks

Hi Rachel,
We actually process two types of donations within the ticket order through the contribution tab – a membership and a “$1 for the arts” contribution. It was very simple to set up on our end – within the fund set up, there is a “use in ticketing” check box to make it available to the ticket sellers. The ticket seller just selects the appropriate fund. To modify or reverse the donation once the order was updated, you just change the amount within the original order and update it again.
For reconciliation, we print the Transactions by Posting report and forward that to our development and accounting departments so they have the detail of what we processed through ticketing the previous day.
For contributions through our website, the money does go on account to be processed manually on the backend. I don’t recall exactly why we chose that route when we initially set up our web API, but we will be rethinking that as we upgrade our site.
