Membership Update Utility Report - which parameters to use?

Hello everyone,

I would like to schedule the Membership Update Utility Report as we recently just launched our annual giving patrons program and a particular membership organisation has been set up and used.

After reading the documentation, I was hoping someone in the Dev world would help me set up the parameters for this report based on best practice.

Ideally, we would want the report to run weekly...Please advise whether your organisation does this or it would be better to run it daily?

Any advice and direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,

Katherine

  • Ditto Simon - it depends on when you have memberships expiring.  We have memberships that expire every day, so we run it nightly at like 11:45 PM, so that it doesn't expire people until the END of the day they expire.  We run it from 1/1/1950 - today, just to make it easier to be sure we didn't miss anyone.  If you only have memberships expiring once a week, there'd be no reason to run it daily; but if they are expiring daily I would want to keep the records correct by running it daily.

    Hi Katherine,

It depends on how you've setup your membership scheme in Tessitura.  We've have some of our Membership schemes initiation set to today, so we schedule the report to run daily so that the constituent headers are kept as up to date as possible.  Its also going to be important for us going forward as we are going to be using memberships online and if a customer loses their benefits (such as priority booking) because the membership update utility hasn't run they would almost certainly complain.
