Hello everyone,
I am struggling to come up with a way to find out how many active Members there were at a point last year to compare with the present.
My intent was to generate a List with consituents who have a membership valid on a certain date in the past, but I can't work out the logic, or even if that's possible.
Does anyone have any pointers, or know of a more elegant solution to compare how membership numbers change year over year? I'm sure this must be a common data point that orgs would require.
Many thanks,
Nicholas
You can use the Membership Totals report, but the key is to think carefully about your expiration date parameters.
For example, our memberships all end on the last day of the month. So if I want to know how many active memberships I had as of June 30, 2011, I would set the expiration date parameters to be 6/30/11 through 6/30/12. (Actually, in our case I would extend the second date out another year to 6/30/13 because occasionally we give folks two-year memberships.) This should give you a count of how many patrons had the status of Active as of 6/30/11.
