Donations via website

I'm collecting some data as we move forward with a new website developer and need to know approximately how many donations are collected from other organizations via their website.  Ours is so hard to navigate, we just know that we're missing out on many contributions simply because our website is so not user-friendly.

Can anyone send a quick reply with an average number of donations or percentage of donations (and average gift amount) that come in over the web at your organization?

Many Thanks,

Nancy Clarkin

    Hi Nancy,

You can find a wealth of information about the average number of donations online (percentage range) from the Tessitura census that was done in 2009. It's a bit outdated and doesn't give average gift amount, but you can find it here.

Also, they just did a current census, so I would think that updated information might be available soon.

I believe we are still under 10% for an average number and I'm unsure about the average amount.

    Cheers!
