TNew & Online Ticket for Fundraising Events

Hi,

Does anyone using TNew sell fundraising event tickets online? If so, would you be willing to share how it is set-up? We're trying to set up online ticketing for our gala and other fundraising events. Our box office can set it up like a concert, but then we would need to "refund" these ticket sales and re-enter as contributions so they would be listed in contribution history. Does anyone have a better way of selling tickets online for fundraising events? We do have multiple pricing levels (table, tickets, ads), etc.

    Hello Shelley and Matthew,

My planning is in the very early stages, but this is what I have so far:

    1)      Gala Tickets is an option in the Gift dropdown on the Contributions homepage, minimum contribution allowed is a single ticket value.  I would add additional text to this page to indicate that Gala Tickets can be purchased here.

    2)      Gala Tickets-specific content is then pushed on to the page

    3)      Address Panel control slot – To be able to select the number of tickets to be ordered – In LTR_TNEW_CONTRIB_TYPE_CONTROLS, Gift Recog Label text is “I would like to book” and under the Gift Recog Options column I have included number of tickets and related value amounts as options to select.  I haven’t figured out what to do about the extra box to the right, but just exploring at the moment.

    4)      Repurposing another box on this slot the patron can enter the name of attendees, and adding a Notes Panel slot they can add additional information.

After payment processing of course all of this information gets pushed into a CSI with a Gala-specific category for Development Department to follow up regarding table assignments, etc.

I have also added a Gala Table of 10 Gift dropdown option, the donation amount automatically populates as the value of a table.

It feels a little bulky at the moment, but I’m always trying to explore with as much “out-of-the-box” functionality as I can.

    Duane

I’m following an interesting thread on the Ticketing forum where Duane Woods is in the testing phase of setting up through the Contribution module.  You might want to check it out.

    Thanks,

We are selling the tickets like tickets to a concert, which goes into Ticket History/Orders in Tessitura. Then the box office manager refunds the sale, puts the money on account, and I enter the purchase as a contribution and put the money into the correct fund. This allows us to have these orders in contribution history. It’s a multi-step process so it’s not as efficient as I’d like it to be, but it’s the only way we could think of to make it work right now.

Did you ever get this up and running?  We'd like to do the same.  Christian's response was interesting but they don't use TNEW.  As far as I can tell the online donations with TNEW allow a patron to enter an amount for a specific fund.  But how would you buy 2 tickets to the gala?  I don't want the patrons adding up one lump sum.
