For all board members, I have set up a board name with a first name greeting of board member excluding the spouse if they are not also a member.
When I go to reports and execute a stored query, I select that this is a board mailing and would like board greetings. But, my report produces six default names instead of board names. I have checked their records and they do have a board name set up. Everytime I run a list of all board members against a query the same six board members generate their default name instead of their board.
Any ideas on why this is happening? Thanks for your help!
When you are setting up to execute the output set, (AKA query), are you selecting both a mailing purpose and a salutation type? If so, my guess is that in those six records the address with the mailing purpose you select is linked to the default salutation.
A salutation that is linked to a mailing purpose will trump your board salutation selection. If that is the case, change the salutation that the address is linked to and it should work.
