We have been entering verbal pledges into the contribution module as a pledge, but now our accounting department has told us that we can no longer enter a pledge unless we have written confirmation from the donor.
Does anyone have ideas of where we can enter these verbal pledges so we can track them and also send pledge reminders to them? The only place I can see to do this is through soliciations, but am unsure how to enter them there.

Like Chris at the Guthrie, we also use solicitations for tracking verbal pledges. We have a Status called "Verbal Pledge". We send pledge reminders by pulling a solicitation tracking report (ours is custom but you can always use the standard Solicitation Tracking report, it works great when saved to excel) with the status of "verbal pledge" and the appropriate campaign. For us, the Goal is the amount they have verbally promised to us.Dale
