expired members

Former Member
Former Member $organization

I am frankly embarrassed to be asking this question, but I really don’t know the answer.  (If I could post anonymously, I would!)

How can I get a list of members who expired in the last six months and have not yet renewed?  We have played around with creating a lit where Membership Current = No and Membership Exp. Date is within the period, but it is not giving us what we want.

Surely there is a canned report or something simple to be able to pull the names/addresses of these folks.

Thanks.

  • Hi Julie!

This might be a made a bit tougher by the use of the Current Membership elements.  "Current" in this case really means "Status of Active, Awaiting Payment, Suspended, and Lapsed."  The Lapsed bit might be throwing you off.  Are you looking for folks who truly expired - or folks who are now lapsed without a pending membership AND expired without a pending membership?

Try this (using the Membership folder) to see if gets you closer:

    Membership Status IN Lapsed, Inactive

Membership Exp Date BETWEEN [the time frame you need]

Membership Status DOES NOT HAVE Pending

Membership Status DOES NOT HAVE Active

What this will do is link the Inactive and Lapsed statuses with the date range - making both true in a single membership record, but then layering in on top the need for the account at large to not have a membership record with a pending status and not have a membership record with an active status.  I should also point out this is all assuming that a constituent can have membership in only one membership organization.
