When I'm in a contribution editor window and I go to the 'Matching/Credit' tab and I try to give credit to someone it doesn't let me select 'Matching Gift' creditee type. It gives me a message saying "You can not choose this creditee type in a membership transaction".
The problem is that we are not using memberships. Please anyone out there has the same issue?

Goto system tables, TR_CREDITEE_TYPE and there is a column called "Credit Membership". Find the row for matching gift and make sure that the column I mentioned is unchecked. I think that should fix your issue.
