Short cut for Gift entry and Membership status update

This is a perfect use case for the Contribution Import Utility.  It takes a bit of thought to set up the process and configure the import set, but it could be repeated for other situations down the road.  It will create new contributions for new/existing constituents, updating or creating applicable memberships.  This can also be used for gift memberships as well.

Hi There!

I am curious to find out if there is an easier way to manage the gift entry process and membership status update on the following scenario:

A company buys 200 memberships at the same level, and  gives these 200 memberships to the employees, each membership is designated with unique employee. Is there a quicker way to enter the gift information to activate the membership status of each of the 200 employee via batch control and such (some kind of  the global update function) instead of entering them 200 times?

Or, what's your experience on managing similar situation? Managed as Gift membership?
