Hello All,
I'm wondering if anyone out there has come up with a good way to track prospects in different sponsorship categories/levels in Tessitura. For instance, perhaps I want to track a patron as a potential patron for a $10,000 Production Sponsor and maybe I want to track another patron for a $50,000 Exclusive Production Sponsor as well as a $5,000 Opening Night Sponsor. I'd love to know if anyone is doing something like this. Thanks for any advice!
Hi Shellie,
Solicitations is always a good place to track prospects. In our case, we have a Solicitation Type of ‘Major Gift Prospect,’ and I’ve heard of a number of other organizations who have something similar.
The challenge in the case you describe is the limitation that Solicitations will not allow you to use a particular Campaign/Designation combination more than once per constituent. So if both of the sponsorships you describe would be tracked within the same Campaign, the easiest way to handle your situation would be to build separate Designations for each sponsorship. Though we don’t structure our solicitations exactly the same way as you, we do have instances in which we solicit multiple gifts from the same constituent and to the same Campaign, so we use separate Designations to distinguish between the solicitations.
Hope that helps!
…Alex
