With my development guru gone, I'm at a loss! How do you handle fund setup with overlapping campaigns? I'm specifically talking about subscription add-on contributions. While we are in the current fiscal year and still accepting annual fund gifts, the subscription add-on contributions are counted as FY12 campaign contributions. They are time restricted in the GL, but because we can't associate the AF fund with the new campaign, they are currently being processed and restricted until the FY11 campaign. Is there anyway around this?
Much thanks in advance,
Allyson
Some people have an odd year fund and an even year fund so that they don’t have to move the start and end dates on funds in order to process gifts. We don’t do that; we keep a fund associated in the campaign that gets the most use, and if we need to process a gift to a newer or older campaign that uses the same fund (as happens at the turn of a fiscal year), we change the end date of the fund in one campaign and the start date of the fund in the other campaign, process the gift, then change the start and end dates back as they were.

Hi Allyson,
The dates you put on campaign/fund associations really just control the default campaign selected when you process a contribution to the fund. You can associate your AF fund with the FY11 and FY12 campaigns, they just can’t have overlapping association dates. Once the associations are set up, you can manually select the FY12 campaign when you process contributions to the AF fund even if it is defaulting to the FY11 campaign.
