Hi everyone
In the Australian Ballet Philanthropy team we are not yet ready to go the ranking route but do want to be able to make some RFM judgments about constituents.
It would be great to know what others are doing - Extractions? Attributes? Lists of Lists?
Look forward to hearing from anyone out there!

Hi Judy,
We did an RFM analysis last year using a combination of Extractions and Lists. We created one Extraction for each of the three dimensions (recency, frequency, and monetary), and then used List Builder to combine the Extraction segments into lists with every possible RFM combination. It was a bit of a clunky process, but gave us the results we were looking for.
That being said – if you’re comfortable with T-Stats, I would echo Chris’ comment about starting your analysis there. I wasn’t familiar with T-Stats at the time we did our analysis project, but it’s definitely where I would start if I were doing it again now.
Hope that helps!
…Alex

Your T-Stats might be another place to start looking at this. We worked through an RFM scenario using T-Stats during the TLCC2010 T-Stats Hands-On Workshop. Here's the PowerPoint presentation, and the RFM exercise starts on slide 35.
Best,
Chris
