Hello everyone -- I am posting on behalf of a group of development professionals specializing in corporate giving/sponsorship within the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's consortium (orchestra, ballet, opera, trust programs, and two theatres). We are looking to improve the ways that we use Tessitura to track activity with corporate prospects/donors, the multiple levels of contacts that we might have within a business and its subsidiaries, any benefit-related activity (comp tickets, employee discounts, signage, program advertising, etc.), timing of multiple yearly solicitations for special events, regular giving, capital campaigns, etc.
Do any of you have simple yet elegant solutions that represent best practices in using Tessitura for these purposes, including documentation for your business processes, that you can provide me with? Failing simple yet elegant, we are also open to processes that are complicated, messy, and byzantine.
If anyone at the mother ship can provide guidance on what we can expect in this area in future releases, that would also be helpful.
Thanks so much for your assistance,
John Federico | Director of Development | Pittsburgh Opera
Good timing on this post. I too, having just sat down with our Development Department yesterday, am looking for ways that other organizations are tracking sponsorship benefits including things like house program recognition, comp tickets, backstage tours, sponsor receptions, etc.
Thanks,
Duane

Thanks, Amber. Your guidelines are useful and clear for dealing with how and why to create various types of records, how to relate them and what to store in each of them. They will be useful for our group as we move forward. I may look for a minute to contact you directly in mid-December to talk about some of the other issues.
Anyone else out there have anything to contribute?
