What are the steps to move a contribution from one constituent to another after it has been batched? Is it possible? For example, a contribution was applied to x and y, but should have been applied to x's and y's family foundation.
Thanks,Michelle
The contribution needs to adjusted out and reposted correctly.

You have to do an adjustment to delete the gift from the wrong record and then reenter to the correct one. So do a negative payment to the first and use the Adjust key to apply it to the gift. That takes it away from the wrong record. Then start again with the correct record.

Thanks for your help, Julie. How does the money get reapplied? All of this is in retrospect and the money has already gone to the bank, so to speak, so we don't want the funds to show up in the GL as they've already been processed.
When you make the adjustment you will be taking the money out and posting it back into the same the GL so when the batch is posted the GL will “wash” with a debit and credit of the same value.
You may very likely have a Payment Method that is labeled “Posting Adjustment” which has the same GL as Cash/Check so the amount will not add to the deposit amount of the day.
For comfort level you might want to try first in your Test system - this will let you seen how it will work and post.
