Prospect Ranking

Hi folks - we are working on building out a system to identify major donor prospects from within our database. We are currently using iWave to collect information on select constituents and then want to rank those constituents by assigning values to various pieces of information/criteria collected. Does anyone have best practices and/or a rubric for ranking prospects in this way that they could share?

I actually undertook this project a couple of years ago and created three different sets of criteria (one for $10k annual prospects, one for capital prospects, and one for planned giving prospects). Here's the spreadsheet I created with the criteria and point values. We have a custom version of rankings set up in system tables to be list-based, so once I created the list to pull for each criteria set, assigned it to the proper ranking type, and input the values, it calculates the scores for me on the back end.
