Adding a Soft Credit after Posting a Batch

Is there a way to add a soft credit "after the fact," as it were--that is, after the contribution has been entered and the batch posted? I neglected to do so on a contribution and now that contribution isn't coming through on some reporting.

Thanks for any help!

  • Actually, you don't have to back it out entirely. In contribution editor, just select the constituent, select adjust, click on the already entered gift, pick your adjustment reason and then go right to the Credit Tab. As long as there are no memberships involved, you can just add the soft credit and then save the contribution.

The only way I know to do this is to refund or "back out" the contribution and then re-enter it.
