Plans and Pipeline Meetings

Would anyone be willing to share their processes or agendas they use for Plans Meetings with their teams? How often do you discuss as a team? What do you discuss? What do you have in place that feeds your pipeline? How are you recirculating prospects or lapsed donors?

  • Hi Marie! So for my team we generally have two monthly meetings related to pipelines, one is to look at new prospects and one is to look at the other folks currently in the pipeline. For the prospects meeting I present donor profiles I've put together (generally 10-15) and we go through to figure out who is a viable prospect, who to put on hold, and who to disqualify.

    For the other pipeline meeting I alternate between presenting folks in our annual pipeline and those in our capital pipeline (so one month it'll be annual, the next capital, etc.) The report I give to my team shows the constituent, their current status, goal/ask/received amounts, and upcoming steps. I break it up along three tabs (one for Individuals, one for Institutional, and one for Board which we track separately) and each tab is sorted by status. We go through and figure out next steps, if anyone is ready to be moved to a new status, etc. 

    In terms of recirculating lapsed donors, we do have a renewal process, though at the moment we don't have steps to recirculate long-lapsed donors.
