Hello!
I have recently come up against what to do with donor records that pre-date our org's Tessitura use. I've been asked about keeping an electronic copy of physical records that we have and I'm curious how others have handled this. Two options that were brought up were to either enter them individually in Tess or put them into a csv file and use the contribution import utility. What have others found to be the most useful way to keep record of old donor history?

Do this, if you can. Hand-entry would be a last resort, and loss of the historical data = unacceptable, imho.
I think that importing will be the way to go.
The thing to be mindful of is if there has been changes to your campaign structure. You may need to massage the contribution data to fit the Tessitura structure. There may be some work behind that...but would be so much easier than manually entering them in.
