Email generation of Acknowledgment letters

Is there a way to email an Acknowledgment letter?

Has anyone successfully generated them?  I would assume that they cannot be altered, but merely be a form letter.  Or can they?

Currently, we are able to send receipts for ticket purchases and have text appear if a donation is added to the order (for tax purposes).  If a donor calls, having lost the letter, it can be resent.

Anything like this for contributions?

    The only way I know how to email acknowledgements is to act like you will print it and then save it as a PDF and attach it to the email. I am unaware of a process to imbed the acknowledgement into an email directly from Tessitura.
