I'm curious how other organizations enter telefunding pledges when you contract with an outside company for telefunding. For my current organization, I get a report each morning with data from their calls the previous day. I see those who donated yesterday, and those who pledged yesterday. We have some customizing done in Plans where we have a field for "verbal" where I enter the amount, add a Plan Step with some more details, and save. We have a custom report that shows all verbals from the field in the Plans. It works really well.
My previous organization did not do much customizing, so to track these we had a dummy fund set up with no GL attached to it, and I would enter a real pledge using that fund. When the gift came in I would enter it as a new gift, then adjust the telefunding pledge to zero. At the end of the fiscal year I would always have to adjust a lot of pledges to zero as payment never came in. It worked, but it was incredibly time consuming and difficult to maintain. How does your organization record these? I'm curious especially about anyone that doesn't customize much, that uses any standard settings in Tessitura.
