Hello!
To give some background, I am relatively new in my position as an Individual Giving Manager so I am still learning. We just got a new boss and he has asked for portfolios. My predecessor was amazing with Tessitura and data so I usually just copy over what he did and go from there. He built an output set for Portfolio lists but it is a massive amount of information.
What are the basics that should be included in a list like this? I was thinking contribution amounts for the current and last two years for sure but what else? Thanks!
Portfolio managers are also going to want a way to gauge engagement. That could be ticketed performances but it could also be Development events, etc. So maybe something to give them a sense of that?
I find my folks also like a sense of how long a donor has been with the organization -- so maybe year of first gift??
If you can, I'd ask to sit in on a meeting where the people you're making this for will be talking about their portfolio work. Listening to the things that they single out as being important may be really illuminating as to how that team makes decisions.
