Hi everyone,
I was wondering whether or not someone can confirm something for me...Does the New Contribution Report's 'Contribution Start/End Date' parameter pull data based on the transaction date rather than the entered contribution date?I recently had to do some adjustments for 2007 donations from one fund to another (initial operator error). When I used the the New Contributions Report to get a total amount of donations given between January - December 2007, the report showed up blank. When I ran the same report for January to June 2010, my adjusted donations for 2007 were listed even though the date parameters lists this year's dates!
I even tried adding a list (with the right criterias that show the constituents with the adjusted contributions) with the report and still, it comes up blank. I understand this is the case with the Fund Activity Report (the report has the parameter 'Transaction Date Range' listed in the top right hand corner when you run it) which makes me think that I won't be able to use this report as a substitute for the New Contribution Report.
Can someone please advise whether there is an out of the box report which pulls contribution data based on the contribution date of donations (as opposed to the transaction date)?
Going a little crazy over here.

The New Contribution Report does reference the transaction date. The documentation also has this handy note:
This report only includes new pledges and contributions (trn_types 1 and 2). It does not reflect any adjustment or write off activity for the selected funds during the selected date range, therefore, this report will not necessarily reconcile to other finance and/or development reports run for the same funds and date range.

Perhaps a custom report might be needed in this case...
Any organisation out there that has this and would be happy to share, I would be most grateful.

There are probably a few standard reports that pull by contribution date if you go digging. The one I use regularly is called "Pledge Gift" in the finance folder.
You could also use output set builder.

I ran into this same issue with the New Contribution Report (using the transaction date and not the contribution date) and found that the Pledge Gift report took care of my needs.
