Promote a list to records

Can someone tell me if the procedure for promoting a list to records has changed with the new version of Tess?

In the past, after creating my sources and selecting the lists I want to promote, I would go to REPORTS-MISCELLANEOUS and select CREATE PROMOTIONS.  This option does not exist in our MISCELLANEOUS folder.

Help???  Thank you!

You're right; it has changed, Marcy.

There is now a button at the bottom of the Appeal screen called "Promotions".  Any in-house source codes within that appeal that are unpromoted will show up as possibilities to be promoted.  It should work just like the report did, except now you don't have to leave the appeal screen.

  • Hi Marcy,

It has changed.  You now promote while in Campaigns-Appeals.  When you open the Appeal and add your Source, there is a button down at the bottom next to "Add" and "Delete" and "Copy" called "Promotions."  Click this button to promote a source.  It will allow you to check the sources you want to promote.  Unchecking a box will not promote that source.

You can also promote straight from Extractions.  Click on "Extraction Manager" in the menu, "Extract Constituents", then check "Generate Source Codes" and then chekc the box marked "Create Promotions Now."

    Hope that answers your question!

  • This utility still exists for sure!  It’s been moved to the Campaigns and Appeals category, because it belonged there right alongside the Delete Promotions and Sources utility.

Also, as another tip, you can also expand the “(all)” category in the Reports & Utilities window to see all reports in alphabetical order.
