We have an org new to tessitura. Interested in the In-Kind tracking capabilities but how they do it currently they don't assign a value to the donation. That's it's up to the person when they file taxes to do so. Are others here familiar with this and if so, how do you find is best to process using Tessitura. I see how it's set up out of the box, it does require a value being set. And even though you can use an alternate payment method and should since no payment is actually being received, it gets recorded on a person's record with that value and such. And I don't think they'd want this. So looking for an alternative option for where this information can live in tessitura. I'm wondering if there's something creative with CSIs we can do but checking if anyone has come up with something.

We assign a gift value of $1 and have a payment method of 'Gift in Kind' and a Fund for in-kind gifts so it's very easy to filter those gifts in (or out) of lists, etc. As we cut acknowledgement letters, we know not to make that $1 value a merge field, which solves the logistical problems there.

Effectively, yes. The campaign we use is "20XX Special Projects" and includes in-kind gifts, dues for one of our auxiliary boards, and anything else that doesn't count toward fundraising totals.
