Multiple Step Workers for a Single Step

In Plans, how do you handle steps that are a team-effort or otherwise completed by multiple step workers? For example, a donor meeting is with a Gift Officer and a Gift Planning staffer? Steps completed during a given time frame is a major KPI for front-line fundraisers, so it is important that all of the staffers get "credit" for their work.

My guess is that the only option is to enter two steps with the same information -- have one assigned to Gift Officer and the other step assigned to Gift Planing staffer --but that seems messy.

Associate ID didn't quite seem like the right option since I don't want to make it look like one of our staffers is being cultivated for the gift, but maybe that is just my lack of experience using that field talking.

What do y'all suggest?

  • We do one step per worker. Ideally each staff person would enter a slightly different contact report (focusing on what they specifically talked about during the meeting, since each staff person would have a slightly different angle), so the steps would have different notes even though they have the same type and date. We use Associate ID to track when an individual (non-staff person) is the main contact at an organization and the plan is on that organization's record, but we want it to appear on the Associate's record as well.
