All of us have named places...for instance, at our zoo, we have named statues, play areas, & buildings such as the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo or the Gene & Jerry Jones Atrium. Does anyone have any advice or best practices of how to track these in Tessitura? Currently, we have a spreadsheet outside of Tess, but would love to get it tracked within the system.
It has been suggested to use Program Names but that doesn't seem like it accomplishes what I need.
I'm thinking of using Documents (new).
One of our goals would be to run a list by Document Category to see a complete list of named spaces and we could use the list to do a yearly audit, etc.
I like Documents (new) also, because we can add a photo of the named space.
Thoughts?
Hi Mark!
I'm not sure whether you mean you'd like to 'track' them in terms of their capacity/bookings, or if you're referring to tracking them in terms of who they are named after.
If it's the latter, perhaps Attributes could work? You could make an Attribute Type named something like 'Eponym' or 'Area Name', and then an Attribute Value (text type) where you could type in the name of the building/area/thing.
Alternatively, you could use CSIs? You could set them up in a similar way and include the building/area/thing in the text field.
The downsides of this are, as you've mentioned above, you couldn't include a photo, and with the Attributes you also won't be able to include an date on which the building was named after them.
Hope this helps?!
