Help re: re-issuing tax receipt

Hi folks - with our key staff person on lay-off, I am looking after donation processing and am seeking help to re-issue/re-print tax receipts for individuals donors.

In one case, I have all the information including tax receipt number but in another case, it would appear that the donation was included in a batch but was not acknowledged with a receipt initially, so its accounted for in system but I need to produce a receipt. Is there somewhere on the Tess website that has a step by step instruction on how either of these 2 tasks are completed.

Thanks very much!

  • Hi Suzanne!

It will depend a little bit on your individual set up - but there's a lot of documentation available to you. Here is a link to the documentation on printing acknowledgement letters, which I think will cover most of what you're looking at.

Assuming you are utilizing the standard functionality in Tessitura: to reprint a specific acknowledgement, usually the easiest thing to do is go into the contribution on the constituent record. In Contribution Detail, there's an Acknowledgement tab - you can select the specific line you need to reprint and duplicate it with the duplicate button. That will create a new item that gets pulled in the next run of the acknowledgement utility. If there isn't a line to duplicate, you'll need to go in through the contribution editor and add one, which is a little trickier if you're not used to the editor!
