Another Matching Gift Question

Does anyone book matching gifts directly in the patron's account (rather than the company's)?  If so, how does this work for you?  Do you use any special procedures as a result?

    Hi Christopher,
     
    In most cases the Playhouse books matching gifts in the corporate account and transfers membership benefits to the corresponding individual.  Having said that, matching gifts made on behalf of our board members are booked in the Trustee's account with a soft credit back to the company.  We do this because Board giving is a separate Campaign and we need to see all of their gifts in one bucket for reporting.
