Hey all!
One of our corporate donors recently merged with another company, and they are now operating as one under the name of the second company. The second company has no history with us. My initial thought was to create a relationship between the corporate donor and the second company, inactivate the corporate donor record, and create new relationships between our donor company contacts and the second company. This would preserve the historic gifts under the original company that made the contributions which is great from a data perspective, but in reality when we look at the second company's record we want to see the donor company's contributions and memberships as part of their history. I think ideally what I need is to structure the relationship like a household so the historic contributions and memberships are owned by the donor company but I still see them when I open the second company's record. Has anyone found a way to do this or something similar?
Thanks!
Anne
Hi Anne,
I have run across this recently and have been undecided on what to do. I understand wanting to keep both historical gifts in one record but also wanting to see all gifts combined in the second company's record. Can you please share what you decided to do and any pros/cons of that?
Thank you!
Mary
