Does anyone track their donor retention rates in Tessitura? I'm trying to gather a profile of our donor giving, but the tools available fall pretty short so I'm wondering if anyone here has a relatively simple way of tracking donor retention? The next step is going to be to look at giving frequency and average gift size for our organization. Any tips or pointers on how you wrestle that data out of the system would be great!
Hi Maria - if you're processing your contributions through memberships there's so good out-of-the-box reports that should do the trick. If you aren't (like my org) I can really recommend the Campaign Giving Comparison report. I used this all the time to look at retention and fluctuations in giving levels YOY.
Alternatively you could create a list of all the donors you want to do the analysis on, and create and output set with multiple contribution info lines, each filtered for your need for that column. Takes a bit of work but then you can keep the output set forever..
