We use a constituency to track board members, and another constituency to track former board members. However, this does not allow us to reflect situations such as someone was on the board for nine years, then off for one, then re-elected to the board. Does anyone have a good way to store this information in Tess? We've considered Research Notes and Activities, but neither of them is very helpful. We'd like, for instance, to be able to answer questions like, "who was on the board in 2010?"

We use an Affiliation - we used to use Constituency (because of the start and end dates) but we had a previous board member return for another term. It is not possible for a person to have two Constituency records of the same type (regardless of the date ranges involved) but a person can have two Affiliations of the same type to the same organisation.

For all our Board Members, we also try and track the other boards they may have been on or are currently on - it can be interesting to see some boards members appear to be "pack" members - often participating on the same boards at the same time.
