Hi folks, I have a weird merge situation: Let's call him John Michael Smith. He has two household accounts.
One of the households looks perfect in that it has all the contribution history, research notes, attributes and historical ticket history. Looks as it should:
The other household has more recent ticket info but nothing else except address and email. Also it lists his name twice under the individual accounts. Looks like:
I can't merge the households and truth be told I'm pretty uncertain still about *uncoupling* households. I worry about losing the ticket info since it's attached to both household. Is there something else I can do here?
Thanks, community!
Why can't you merge the households? If you type in the HH ids there should be a Household Helper that pops up. After that merge is processed you should merge Michael Smith into John Smith.https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v151/Content/Duplicate%20Management/Scheduling%20Merges.htm
You could go the long way. Convert the John & Michael Household to individuals, merge all those into one record, merge that record with the better John Smith, then transfer everything to the household.
I would assume this happened because someone was cleaning up records and saw two Smiths at the same address. (he probably made himself accounts online) Do you add aliases to accounts? That may help in the future.

So, after I merged the two extra Individual accounts into the main Individual account it then allowed me to merge the households! I wish I had taken a screenshot of the error message for you when I first tried to merge the households but I did not... I want to say this problem is solved but I will circle back if something pops up. Thanks so much!
