New Memberships/Donors

We have a membership level which starts at a certain donation amount. We would like to track how many new (ever) people have given at this level, thus have this membership.

We have tried the membership reports, and tried to pull lists based on membership trends, inception dates, initiation dates, membership categories and levels. The data continually gives us constituents who have been long-time donors and give every year. In some cases constituents may have skipped a year due to the time of giving, but we were hoping there would only be a handful of these.

Has anyone been able to do this or something similar? If you have created a report, are you willing to share?

    Hi Marie!

    You could try using extractions to get this list.  Create a supression segment for anyone with a membership record with status of inactive, deactivated, merged, canceled.  Then, a positive segment for anyone with a membership record with status of active, awaiting payment, suspended, lapsed, pending (and you can narrow this down to the specific level you want by including this in the segment). 

    This should get you a list of anyone who has a current membership and has not had one prior.
