Gala check-out process

Hi all,

What do you use to check guests out at your fundraising gala if they have auction purchases or fund-a-need pledges that need to be paid for? Are you able to use Tessitura or TNEW to register guests' credit card numbers and to check them out at the end of the evening? Do you use another software solution and if so which one?

We're old school/cheap and still use paper pledge forms. Wondering if it's time to catch up to the 21st century.

Thanks,

Laura

  • We used to do a NYE gala with a silent auction and would have people pre-register their cc with us which we would put in Tessitura through the the night. This was a combination of paper and people coming to the auction check-desk, where we had five computers set up with Tessitura,  to give us their info. We treated the auction items like tickets (we added all the auction items in the days leading up to the event) and at the end of the night got all the winners checked out. Using the pre-register option was great because it also allowed us to tell patrons we would automatically charge their card and arrange pick up of their auction item if they didn't want to stay until 1:30 am or wait in the line at the end of the night.
