Hello Everyone,
I'm working on my annual plan and trying to engage with new segments. Similar organizations to mine have had success with Peer to Peer Fundraising and I am hoping to implement the same in the next 2 years. Is anyone else on the network currently doing peer-to-peer events? If so would you be willing to share how you track it and best practices for tracking in Tessitura. Or if you had to find another way and then import to tess?
Thanks in advance!
Emily
I am interested in this subject as well.
We do a small amount right now - and our current method is that we have created an Appeal for P2P/3rd Party Fundraisers, and Source Codes to track. We have a few generic-ish ones such as "Birthday Party", "School Fundraiser" since we get loads of those, but also specific ones for the bigger fundraisers such as "Wildlife Run", etc. This allows us to pull reports quickly for numbers for this segment overall, and use the source code to track the bigger events. When we are using the generic P2P source codes, we soft credit the organizer/fundraiser and we have a soft credit type for that. Our current logic is - if it's internally organized we use the Events functionality. If it's 3rd Party/Outside, we use Source/Appeal.
I feel like we would want a more solid system if this were to be a bigger piece of our income, but we aren't there yet so keen to hear if others have better setups!
Related: I've been investigating 3rd party P2P online solutions, as having that online component where event organizers and participants can set up their own events feels like a good path to start on. We are using the CanadaHelps functionality right now, but I know there are some bigger, more comprehensive solutions out there. I found this resource: https://www.p2pfundraisingcanada.com/ and www.techsoupcanada.ca/.../how-to-run-a-peer-to-peer-fundraising-campaign
Thanks Aldera,
This is all really helpful information! I think a lot of our outside sources have just been lumped into the general campaign, so this could also help with some of those as well. I'll keep updating this thread if we end up going down the route (I'm hoping we do)On your related: thank you, I had searched for some, one I liked was Classy, but it wasn't clear on if it would do receipting for Canadian Charities.
