Gala data management

Is anyone using something like Social Tables in conjunction with Tessitura for managing your gala or other elevated events? If so, would you be willing to share what you are using and how it's working? Alternatively, has anyone built out a custom tab for managing additional data for events beyond the elevated events standard functionality?

Our special events team is looking for a tool that will assist with table seating, check in via tablets, and make the data available for edits and review on-site at events to help streamline last minute changes and the check-in process.

Thanks!

  • Hi Laurel,

I used Social Tables at my previous position and I know they like it a lot. We used it for theatre seating as well as dinner seating and could check people in using tablets or our personal phones (if the wifi was down, as it often was). It was easy to seat guests and move them when we learned who wasn't coming. We could also import this information back into Tessitura after the event was over. I'm not sure how it was done, but I know it's possible.

There was a slight drawback with social tables: you can only check in a person in one "room" at a time. If one individual has a seat at dinner and a seat in the theatre, you would have to check them in in both the dinner location and the theatre separately. Their "check in" only applies to the room you are currently in, not all rooms the person might be seated in. This might not make sense.

    I hope this helps,
    Allison
