Multiple Contact at one Org

Hey Tess friends,

How are you guys tracking multiple contacts at one Organization?  For example, Org A has a primary contact that we want to solicit, but when they contribute to our annual fundraising gala, they want another person to receive all of the updates and correspondence IN ADDITION TO the primary contact.  Are you using a combo of Salutations and Contact Point Purposes?

Help!  I've put off figuring this out too long and now I NEED to solve it Disappointed.

Many thanks,

  • We have similar hurdles, Keri. Right now, we use an affiliation type called "Dev Main Contact", but that doesn't always help if someone is the main event contact, and another is the main contract/agreement contact. We've thought about adding more affiliation types, but haven't made a move yet.

Another challenge we have is if someone is a main contact at an organizations, but that contact and their other household primary affiliate are Board members; we have to comb through invite lists to decide who receives what kind of correspondence,  and it can be time consuming.

Don't know if that helped very much, but we do commiserate! - Tele

  • Actually, Tele, it DOES help to know that I'm not alone!

I haven't even started with Contact Point Purposes yet beyond a general Board Communications one, so I feel like that might be part of the solution.  We use an Affiliation Type similar to yours for Devo Primary Contact, and we share the drawbacks you mention.

    Hope you're doing well!
