Elevated Events online

Has anyone had any luck processing reservations for an elevated event online through TNEW. I am aware of the basic setup for contributions online but if you are trying to process a dynamic contribution amount that has to change based on the number of reservations, I don't see a good way to set that up online without a customization.

Has anyone done something like this, or would it just be best to set up this special event as a performance?

  • Good morning Jesse,

Yeah, this is the big conundrum with Elevated Events and TNEW, at least until a new solution is created.

I've overseen this (and seen this) done in a couple different ways.

When I first started using TNEW for Elevated Events, everything was just set up as a Contribution; this was easy because there were no single tickets to be purchased, only seats granted through sponsorship levels.

Then we began introducing single tickets, and you run into the problem of either needing to set up multiple Contribution entries for the common denominations of tickets purchased or asking the buyer to do their own math for the number of tickets they want to purchase.

And now in my Consortium Manager role, we have organizations who are still selling their sponsorship levels on TNEW through Contributions while then setting up single tickets through an actual Ticketed event so that people can use a purchase path which more closely resembles a ticket buying experience.

So it's definitely possible to make use of multiple structures for a single Elevated Event with regard to how it looks and functions on TNEW, and the trickiest part is how you report all of your income; of course, the introduction of Analytics in v15 and being able to reference multiple data cubes in different widgets on a single dashboard helps this immensely.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you,

    Brian
