We have a Patron who would like to spread a Pledge out across 4 years. It's a $4000 Gift and he would like to pay $1000 per year.
How do others handle this?

You need to clarify if the donor intends to make a pledge to a single fiscal year with payments over four years, or if he/she wishes to support your next four seasons in which case your pledges are split one per fiscal year. The latter provides sustainable support but sometimes the donor's wish or the org's need make the first option preferable. Recognition needs to be part of the conversation too - are they being recognized for the whole amount or annual payment amount?
