Have any of you had success using text-to-give services like Mobile Cause in an arts and culture environment?
If so, can you share what was the cause and the "ask" or cause for giving, then an estimate of the file size and your response rate?
We are a large film organization with a national membership and some experience using it to limited success...but we're trying to decide whether to renew our service or not.
Understanding other organizations' experiences and use cases would be helpful.
Many thanks for any feedback you can offer. Thanks!
My experience is that "text to give" campaigns really only work when you have a specific ask, and small time frame and a visual progress aide like a thermometer. The best example that I've seen was outside of the Tessitura world at a school's gala where they had a goal to raise $20K in 5 minutes for new computers for their lab. They surpassed their goal by $5,000 and they had an awesome MC who was working the crowd during the countdown. It was what they did instead of a live auction, and it was a lot more fun for attendees.
Hope this helps!
Great example, Emily. Thanks!
