How do you track Planned Giving?

Hi everyone,

The New York Phil wants to start tracking planned giving in Tessitura. Right now, all our information is outside the system. How does everyone else track planned giving in Tessitura? I know about the Planned Giving radio button, but I've heard it's not great. Please let me know your process/work-arounds for planned gifts.

Thanks!

  • I presented on this at the conference a bit and you can take a look at the presentations from the session on Tuesday at 10:45am called Identifying and Engaging Planned Giving Prospects. At 92Y, we use a prospect campaign for Planned Giving to track prospects and we use the Planned Giving radio button when we know how much a donor has committed. We create an estate record when someone dies and has left us a planned gift and then create an annual fund plan in the estate record for the year (or years) the gift is expected to come in. I’d be happy to email/speak to anyone directly if you’d like more details.
