Institutional Prospect Tracking

The KC Symphony tracks grant proposals and corporate prospects through solicitations in Tessitura.  We created some specific solicitiation statuses that reflect the grant writing/submission/approval cycle.

You might contact Eric Williams with the Symphony.  I believe he is in the directory on this site.

When I was at San Francisco Ballet, we used solicitations for both foundation and corporate prospects as well. You may want to contact their grants and/or corporate officers for specifics. It sounds like we had a similar setup to KC: specific types and statuses, etc. Good luck! Cate

We are using the Solicitation Module to track individual prospects, and now we would like to add Corporate and Foundation Prospects to the mix.

Is anyone out there currently tracking Institutional Prospects - and if so how are you doing this in Tessitura?

We use them for just about everything we can think of.
Like I think most organizations we started with two separate sets of statuses to track individual and institutional solicitations but recently combined the two since they were about 90% similar.

For example we had a status of cultivation and solicitation for individuals and pre-app, full-app for institutional so we simply combined them into
Cultivation/Pre-App
and
Solicitation/Full-App

If you can find a way to do this and keep everyone happy it helps keep people from using the wrong set of statuses.

I'd have to ask my grant writer who is not here right now but pre-app originally also had LOI (letter of intent) in the description and full-app had Proposal.

So really I'll probably update the descriptions to

Cultivation/LOI/Pre-App
Solicitation/Proposal/Full-App

which should cover all the bases
